Interview with Chris Lythgoe

Manager BlueLight Productions and Services LLC.

“Lighting your way in performance excellence”

What was your first film?

My first film was called In the Trenches, it was a short film that we completed in early 2015. It was my very first screenwriting project and Executive Producer work. We actually partnered with friends of mine from JCL Productions on the project that provided the Director of Photography as well as the Director on that short film. It was an exciting blessing to have brought the finished film to the community as it was accepted into and screened at the Richmond International Film Festival later that year. The film is about two homeless combat veterans, one with PTSD and a secret that my character learns about from his friend. My friend, David Leehy and I starred in the film as the lead actors as well.

Who do you look up to as a film maker?

I can honestly say that I have had many influences as a film-maker, producer and director. *The Kendrick Brothers-War Room, Courageous and many others. *Clint Eastwood, *Robert Rodriquez, *Quentin Tarantino and *Tom Hanks to name a few.

If you had a magic wand, what film would you do next?

Really looking forward to completing the editing/post production on our first feature film, Master Plan and to release it to the community.

How did you get started in film making?

To make a long story short about how I got started in film-making it was just a gradual passionate progression for me from being a 10 year professional actor to just wanting to share our own films/stories with the community.

What’s your message to the youth of today’s generation?

My message to the youth of today’s generation is to utilize all of your gifts and talents to the best of your ability for the greater good, to maintain a strong moral compass, treat every project as being greater than yourself and finally in the words of Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin Airlines, “If your dreams don’t scare you they are not big enough” so dream big!!
